fever dream

My mom 

Used to keep me home from school

And let me watch all the movies. 

Put a washcloth on my head

And brought me soda and orange juice.

Being sick

Wasn’t so bad. 

But mom isn’t here

And I’m completely

Alone.

I have to take care of myself

But I don’t think I’m ready

I want you to take care of me.

Now I’m just 

Feverish, 

In bed, 

Alone.
